Options for purchasing books:

1. Local Bookstores
  • Storyhouse Bookpub
    Storyhouse Bookpub is a female-owned and operated bookstore. You can order online or visit the shop at 505 East. Grand Avenue, Suite #102.
    • Hours: Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Beaverdale Books
    Beaverdale Books is a female-owned and operated bookstore located at 2629 Beaver Avenue. To order specific titles or discuss large purchase options, call the bookstore at 515-279-5400 or email  beaverdalebooks@gmail.com.
    • Hours: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday Noon – 4 p.m.
2. Black-Owned Bookstore
  • Marcus Books As the nation’s oldest Black-owned independent bookstore celebrating its 60th year, Marcus Books’ mission is to provide opportunities for Black folks and their allies to celebrate and learn about Black people everywhere. Order online at https://bookshop.org/shop/marcusbooks or call 510-652-2344 to order over the phone. Allow at least one week for shipping.
3. Large Booksellers
  • Barnes & Noble (local) − Visit the Barnes and Noble on University Avenue or email your personal Barnes & Noble Education Specialist, Anne Sciorrotta-Schmitz.
    • B&N offers a 20-40% discount on bulk orders.
