Ken Chester, Jr. is a board member of Everybody Wins! Iowa, whose mission is to increase children’s success in school and life through one-to-one reading and mentoring experiences with caring volunteers.
I am a board member of Everybody Wins! Iowa. We are a mentoring nonprofit that works with underprivileged kids in city schools by reading with them. The organization actually started in New York City about 30 years ago. It was brought to Iowa 20 years ago by former Senator Tom Harkin. This is my first year as a board member. I'm a mentor at Carver, and I'm going to be the treasurer next fiscal year.
