United Way of Central Iowa has announced Glen Hall (posthumously) and Todd Millang as the recipients of the 2025 Tocqueville Society Award, the organization’s highest honor recognizing individuals whose sustained leadership, service and philanthropic commitment have created lasting impact across central Iowa.

The Tocqueville Society Award is presented annually to members who demonstrate exceptional service to United Way and embody the values of generosity, integrity and leadership. This year’s honorees are a true reflection of those ideals.

Glen Hall's influence continues to impact United Way even after his passing. Hall demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment over many years, serving as a guiding force in both his company campaign and in the community.

“Glen Hall’s legacy is deeply embedded in the foundation of our community,” said Mary Sellers, President of United Way of Central Iowa. “Even in retirement and while facing significant health challenges, Glen remained actively engaged—joining our Legacy Circle in 2024 to ensure his impact would continue to shape central Iowa for generations to come.”

Hall was previously recognized with United Way’s Trailblazer Award in 2018 and the Live United Leader Award earlier this year. His family accepted the Tocqueville Society Award on his behalf at the annual Tocqueville Society Celebration, sponsored by Holmes Murphy, held on October 9 in Waukee.

Todd Millang, the second honoree, has been a steadfast advocate for United Way for nearly three decades. A Tocqueville Society member since 2007 and contributor since 1997, Millang has held numerous leadership roles, including service on the Board of Directors, Campaign Cabinet and Tocqueville Campaign Committee.

As Chair of the Tocqueville Society in 2018, Millang led efforts that raised $14.4 million and welcomed 124 new members—setting a new benchmark for engagement and impact.

“Todd Millang’s enduring commitment to United Way and his strategic leadership have made a profound and lasting impact,” said Sellers. “His dedication to mentoring future leaders and fostering a culture of generosity continues to strengthen our organization and the broader community.”

Millang was formally presented with the Tocqueville Society Award at the October 9 celebration.

The 2025 Tocqueville Society Celebration also honored members for collectively raising more than $7.3 million in 2024. Each member contributes $10,000 or more annually to support United Way’s mission of fostering a thriving community.

“Glen and Todd exemplify the very best of what it means to serve our community,” said Monica Friedman, United Way of Central Iowa Board Chair. “Glen’s legacy continues to inspire us all—his leadership, generosity and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting mark on central Iowa. Todd’s dedication and impact are equally profound, and together, their contributions have transformed lives and strengthened our community. I’m honored to help recognize their extraordinary service and enduring influence.”
