We are so excited to announce the formal launch of our search for a Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, a new position on United Way of Central Iowa's Senior Leadership Team. Koya Partners, the executive search firm that exclusively focuses on mission-driven clients, will be conducting the search. Koya has assumed a leadership role with diversity and equity through its placements at the CEO and senior executive levels, as well as in building diversity and equity internally.
The Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer will help us both internally and externally to be a prominent, consistent voice for equity in our community. This addition to our team will report directly to me and oversee the organization’s Human Resources department along with multiple organization-wide initiatives, in addition to adding senior-level leadership and expertise to this key aspect of our work.
In January 2021, our organization transitioned to a new strategic focus, UNITED to THRIVE, which emphasizes addressing equity issues across all 5 Elements of a Thriving Community: Essential Needs, Early Childhood Success, Education Success, Economic Opportunity, and Health & Well-Being
