Read MoreWelcome to Powered by Purpose, a free online resource designed to help you explore the meaning of purpose, discover your own unique purpose and put it into action in your life and workplace. Everyone has a purpose, it just needs to be uncovered!
According to the Gallup National Health and Well-Being Index, 2 out of 3 central Iowans struggle with purpose and only about 50 percent can identify a leader who makes them feel enthusiastic about the future. Our goal is to change that.
Purpose is also important in the workplace. Organizations, just like individuals, have their own unique purpose, so it’s important for business and nonprofit leaders to identify and share what that is in order to create better engagement with employees, stakeholders and clients/customers.
Whether an individual or an organization, our purpose is our “why” for existing. Understanding purpose comes from identifying what motivates us, what makes us happy, our leading values and what we need in order to help us feel important and valued. In fact, our purpose can often change, shifting as circumstances around us shift and as time goes by.
United Way of Central Iowa and its partners have developed this free Powered by Purpose resource to help our community improve its collective sense of purpose. Whether an individual or organization, discovering and living out purpose increases our health, connection to each other and our overall satisfaction with life.
