United Way of Central Iowa president Shannon Cofield has been honored as one of the Business Record’s 2011 Women of Influence.
The Women of Influence honorees are selected each year to recognize central Iowa’s outstanding woman business, education, government, community and nonprofit leaders.
“Shannon Cofield is a respected community leader. She has dedicated her life to make the lives of others better. I have never met a leader of business, government, education or nonprofit who does not have the highest respect for her,” says United Way board chair and Ruan Corporation president Steve Chapman.
In his letter of nomination, Steve Zumbach writes, “Although Shannon has only been in our community since 2004, she has made a significant impact for the good. Her efforts have reached literally thousands of individuals who face daily challenges in their lives. Shannon has a unique ability to pursue a passionate agenda through strategic thinking.”
The Women of Influence recognition dinner is Thursday, August 4, 4:30 to 7:00 at the downtown Des Moines Marriott. Tickets are $25 or $200 for a table of 10. To order, click here.
