Privacy Policy

United Way of Central Iowa (herein referred to as "United Way") will never sell, trade, share or rent your personal information to its merchant partners, member agencies or any other third parties without your prior consent.

United Way's website provides an opportunity to build and maintain relationships with supporters like you in ways never before imaginable. While we are excited about this chance to get to know you better, our first priority is your trust.

 

Your IP address: An IP address is a number assigned to your computer automatically when you use the internet. United Way will use your IP address along with all other users' IP addresses to track usage patterns and improve our web site. At no time is your IP address linked with anything that personally identifies the owner of the IP address.

Donating online: When you donate online by credit card, you must submit your name, your credit card number and billing information. This information allows us to process and fulfill your donation and to notify you of your donation status. Please review the Privacy Policy on the donation page.

Community Impact database: United Way retains information provided by users in a secure database. This database of information may be used to verify donations transactions, thank supporters for their contributions, and to keep supporters informed or to solicit future donations. United Way understands that most people do not want a lot of mail or e-mail, so we keep our communication frequency within reasonable limits. You may be removed from our database at your request, by emailing our webmaster at contactus@unitedwaydm.org. All information is secure. The information in this database is not shared, traded, sold or rented to any third parties.

Data Security Commitment: To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and help ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate and reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. In addition we use firewalls to help prevent outside parties from accessing our database server through the Internet, and physical access to the database server is restricted to authorized individuals.
